The Quilotoa Lagoon is located in the Cotopaxi province, in the central region of Ecuador, specifically in the Andean area of the country. It is situated approximately 70 km southwest of Latacunga, the provincial capital, and about 174 km from Quito. It has become one of Ecuador's top trekking destinations due to its breathtaking beauty and easy accessibility.

On our full-day trekking tour, you will discover the charm of this area and the Quilotoa community, where you can find delicious food at affordable prices, traditional crafts, and, of course, the main viewpoint where you can fully appreciate the magical turquoise-colored lagoon.

It is said that in ancient times, the Quilotoa volcano stood among the highest peaks in the country, like Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. However, due to its powerful eruptions, it collapsed, leaving us with a landscape of unparalleled beauty.

Departures: Plaza Foch at 7:10 AM or Plaza San Blas at 7:20 AM

Itinerary

• Visit to the Romerillos indigenous market
• The painters of Tigua will get on the buses to offer their products, otherwise, we stop at the gallery
• Visit to the Toachi canyon
• Pictures on the Quilotoa viewpoint 3900 M.A.S.L
• Hiking down to the Quilotoa Lagoon and back  (3 hours)
• Lunch
• Return to quito
